We had our daughter and her partner visiting from Nova Scotia and took them for brunch. We had been a few times ourselves and really enjoyed it. They were very impressed with the food , the service and they thought the view was phenomenal. Needless to say, subsequent visits to the island will include another visit to Painter's Lodge.
We were very disappointed by the buffet, the only thing that was offered. eating was bland, makkaroni tasted like flour, roast beef was over boiled and hard. the service was just okay.
We were coming to that place for our wedding anniversary. We waited 10 minutes before a waitress came to sit us. They didn't even offer a glass of wine to apologize or for our anniversary. Then we waited another hour for the appetizers .... well just for 1 because the second one was lost... somewhere in the kitchen. The food is not very good. I wonder where the legend is ...
Nice location. Food was good. One complaint was the Heirloom tomato salad. There was no Heirloom tomato in sight. The salad was made with grocery store multi coloured grape tomatoes and standard grocery store mini boccancini likely purchased down the road at the Real Canadian Superstore Not up to the standard I would have expected from the description on the menu. Nice ocean front view, cedar wrapped salmon was good. A few of my companions had the French onion soup and loved it.
