My favorite stop in Cañas for good costa rican buffet food. Very reasonably priced.
Stopped for lunches and the food was wonderful! Tender meat and lots of options. Some of staff speaks basic English but pointing at food did the trick for my family and me.
As a tourist we have to stay here for lunch on the transfer to Tamarindo. The food was absolutely great, the buffet has an endless amount of choices. Here the locals eat and we are glad that we must also experience it. The prices are very good.
Probably the best food experience we had in CR in our 5 weeks! We stayed here on a Sunday evening on the way back to Portrero after a visit to the volcano Arenal for the weekend. I can only say that there are places like these that make my day! There were 5 of us who were busy with locals, and nobody spoke English and we had no idea what was going on. You go back and are presented with a cafeteria style where you choose and choose what you want. On Mimi's encouragement, we ended up with heaping platefuls of food... everything I could think was 'that will be expensive'. We decided to avoid drinks. We went through and found a place. The food was excellent homemade farewell. Mimi then brought us small cups of red-coloured slurries with what seemed like condensed milk on it and a malt powder in the lower YUMMY! We gave Mimi a big hug when she came by to ask if we enjoyed the food... Many hand signals let them know how impressed we were. To finish this great food experience, the bill for 5 of us came to $28.00... a total shock that was one of the cheapest meals we had in Costa Rica! After leaving, I have a fast Google search to see if I could find this restaurant, and lo and see, not only did it find, but learned it was all you can eat!!! Darn, we should have these drinks after all!!! Love loved this place and you should not miss it when you travel through Canas.
