Burbury Terrace - Canberra

Burbury Terrace now offer high tea and it is an absolute treat. Right from entering the hotel the quality of the venue is apparent. The views from the top floor overlook a large part of Canberra and it is a beautiful addition to the whole experience. There are three packages to choose from, $50 traditional, $60 with a glass of Champagne and $105 free flowing Champagne. The quality of the tea was divine with a wide variety to choose from. The food is served on a 3-tiered tower and includes all the staples. High tea at the Burbury Terrace is a must do in Canberra.

Nice view, average breakfast. If you're staying at the hotel, skip the buffet and go to Maple Clove down the road.

The Burbury Terrace is one of Canberra’s High Tea specialty venues, competitively priced with a great view. High Tea is $50 per person with and extra $10 for sparking wine. The menu includes sandwiches…. …scones…. ….and sweet treats. While the ambiance and range may not be the same as the Hyatt Hotel, tea and coffee is bottomless and guests are welcome to take home anything they didn’t get to enjoy.

I am a big fan of ANY high tea! I chose the traditional high tea and was looking forward to the tea! The first pot of tea came out luke warm. The second pot of tea came out better but this was after requesting it to be. I would recommend the Napoleon tea it was divine. The sandwiches weren’t as fluffy and fresh tasting, as if they were left to sit exposed on the bench for too long. Service is difficult to get, perhaps it’s because they had a few large group bookings, so much of the attention was to them?

Here over ostern you tasted a beautiful high tee. the sandwiches, scones and sweets were beautiful, they will definitely be full of the amount of food they receive per person. I would give this place a higher rating if only about food and tea alone. it was really busy during the service and very difficult to get someone the attention, it didn't seem many workers around viewing the place was full. the restaurant did not feel comfortable and the room was really loud with a few larger groups near. at one point I had to call a man about our little table to talk to him. the staff was friendly and efficient as soon as they were able to get attention there.
