This is a Canberra staple but it's been a bit inconsistent since moving to the Canberra Centre. The food is either top notch or patchy - gluey rice as an example. I put it down to the sheer volume of meals prepared but for the price, it would be great to get back to the old days.
Too much rice with a small amount of meat and vege. Would Rather having less rice and more meat and vege. We both had an uncomfortable stomach for 2 days after and had horribly smelly burps. We ordered the Gado Gado (not authentic or fresh), Nasi Goreng (too oily, too much rice and little else) and Sambal Ikan (way too spicy and oily). We couldn't eat all the Gado Gado so packed it for home, but ended up throwing it away in disgust.
The food is always fresh, cooked right there - the guys running this pop up have their routine down and if you buy lunch from here often you will always know what you get. Very speedy service and good value.
My wife enjoyed her laksa, but I found my nasi goring very short on chicken meat and veg, and very high on greasy fried rice. I guess it's what you might expect for $12.00 a dish, but I wouldn't go back.
