Only breakfast is available now (March 2021) since Covid I guess. It is very Covid safe with staff serving you everything even condiments! They are pleasant and efficient and only too willing to get whatever you ask for. We had breakfast there the two mornings we stayed here.
The food and service at this restaurant is simply superb and a total, unique, 5 Star dining experience. Totally creative and extensive menu; artistic presentation; and flavors/combinations to die for. One hell of a talented Chef. Look no further quality and service second to none!
We thought that as a once a month event and at $75 per head, the seafood buffet at the Mercure Canberra would be a good meal given that we have had mostly great (at least good experiences) at many other Accor hotel restaurants. Alas this was not to be the case. It might be an all you can eat experience but if there 's not much available there 's not much point. We were in the 2nd sitting we had assumed that the buffet would be replenished between sittings. Clearly not. When we arrived, the cold selection was merely prawns, mussels and crab pieces. There was plenty of evidence of there having been oysters and perhaps other shellfish but clearly you had to be in the first sittings for that. The hot selections were disappointing and clearly had been a disappointment to the first sitting as well as they looked and tasted as though they had been in the keep hot mode for a long time. But if you like chewy calamari, dried out salmon and battered batter (seriously there was no fish inside) then great. Table service was poor requested drinks did not arrive. Want a good seafood meal eat somewhere else.
Disappointed this time not enough staff working and service was slow. Food was not up to standard of last visit two years ago.
