That is the place to go when they are in cancun. small restaurant with the freshest and best Italian food we ever had. francesco actually grows its own crater on the look and picks up after need. we get in the regular the special, but the pizza is also...expandable we live in the opposite of chicago and an dinner like this would cost 2 couple a simple 200.00 with drinking money. our bills are in the regular around 1000 pesos, the $50.00 us. when they are in the city, they make it a point to eat.
Very disappointing experience. We ordered a pizza whose description mentioned chorizo, so we were surprised when minced meat showed up on our pizza. The owner did ask of we would like another one, but we don't believe in throwing away food, so we just said...we'd keep it. The owner said that that is the way Mexicans serve chorizo, which is fine. However, The name of his restaurant indicates Italian food, so if you're serving Mexican food, it would be polite to let the customers know beforehand. The salad was bland and boring, and we had no olive oil on our table to add to it until we requested it. On the plus side, they certainly know how to make pizza dough.
My wife and i went there after our hotel recommended the place and we were not disappointed. I ate the spaghetti carbonara andy wife had the ravioli. The food was amazing and it came with complimentary garlic bread. The owner of the restaurant was extremely...kind and the entire experience was really positive. We HiGhLy recommend
We end up at this restaurant by default as we booked into a hotel without either a bar or a restaurant. What a great find! The restaurant is owned by an Italian man married to a Mexican and speaks prefect English which was good a...we don't speak much Spanish. North Americans my not like these traditional type of pizza as they are thin based and generally don't have meat, but they are as close a you will get to a genuine Italian pizza. The food was excellent and was washed down it a bottle of Chianti all for around $40. The wine was more expensive than the food by a long shot . Nice simple good food restaurant.
