3.14 Plage - Cannes

Spent 5 days at the Carlton Cannes booking 2 rooms for my mother and I. There were some aspects of our stay we enjoyed but others not so much. To start, when you are paying +1k USD a night (for each room) you would expect the basics such as a perfectly working AC... especially given its July. Every morning we woke up hot and sweaty... the AC was incredibly weak. I had the maintenance come who said they fixed it which was not the case.. I see now in the reviews that this is a common problem in the rooms. Other items we were not a huge fan of was the pricing on all miscellaneous items. Everything is ridiculously priced (even more than the top hotels in Saint Tropez). 14 euros for one of the mini diet cokes at the beach club? Outrageous. Note, when you know your bill will be +15K for the two rooms you are not thinking or budgeting 10s of dollars... I mention this as its just the principal and that you feel the hotel is really trying to pry every dollar out of you. Aesthetically hotel is beautiful and has some potential moving forward if things change. Mention that as right now it is running off the hype of the renovation which will fade. Lastly, service is fairly good but not for what they market the property as or what is priced at. My hotel room wasn't even ready until 2 hours after my check in.. To sum it up it wasn't a bad stay but value wise I would go for the competing property a short walk down the Croisette. The hotel has potential but unless things change I feel the property will only be making money in August the few weeks the Qataris, Saudis, and Gulf people come in for their holiday.

Magnifique! Stayed for 7 days and everything was amazing. The service, the hotel, the attention the detail was impeccable. Daily breakfast was delicious and fresh. Centrally located and the beach club was also great. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay here again when I’m back in Cannes

A sublime experience in the Carlton. Friendly and attentive staff, my room was spacious, ultra comfortable bed, breakfast out of standard brief nothing to say again. Thanks again to all the staff of the hotel!

Wonderful experience, the hotel is sumptuous, clean and well placed on the crust, the room was perfect, the staff is in small care, thanks to Rachid and Jeremy for their kindness and availability!
