Cannelle - Cannes

Loved loved loved the food, the attention we got from the staff. We had a wonder lunch while we were in Cannes!

My wife and myself like to eat good French cuisine without pretenses. This is the place. It is open only for lunch, for those like myself who would rather eat well in the warmth of day, there is no other place than here. Always good and fresh and at a decent price. For those who want "Mediterranean French " junk food there are many places to choose for the average tourist who doesn't know food other than mac Donald's.

Was staying in Nice and went to Cannes by train for the evening. As it started to rain we went into the first restaurant. It was OK, a bit pricey. The food was fresh and the staff very friendly, area was a little quite.

We are just back from lunch at the Cannelle. We each had a tuna salad that was ok but overpriced. The main reason we would not go back was due to the rudeness of a member of the staff - he might even be the patron but we do not know. My husband turned the salt shaker and the top came offf covering his salad in salt. They bought him another one and did not replace the salt. I was drinking a coke and was in the midst of pouring and the member of staff walked by and knocked the coke bottle out of my hand. He did not apologise but instead told one of his colleague (in French assuming that we did not understand) that I had dropped the bottle on purpose! I we told the main waitress that we were disgusted and she did apologise but the man did not come over to apologise. We can only assume that he was the patron. We will not go back. This was the rudest restaurant we have ever eaten in. Avoid it.
