The Turf Toby Carvery - Cannock Chase

Reserved a table online, arrived at site was told to sit ANYWHERE!!! We sat at a table that had a reserved sign underneath the menu holder. As we had reserved we didn't see any problem. The rude staff member came over and very loudly told us we shouldn't be sat in our seat whilst we were eating our food. Firstly this is very embarrassing for a customer to be presented to everyone in this manner. Secondly you are never supposed to interrupt customers when eating, thirdly what makes anyone else different from any paying customer. She then said you don't book tables for less than 6 people so why does the website allow this. Our table anyway is for 4 people so what's her point???? Really rude!! I only ever come for breakfast because the quality of the dinner is poor . Made us feel like we had to rush our food. Disgraceful

We saw a family being treated awfully by two of the managers. She was complaining politely about the seating and when she asked to speak to a manager we were sat next to them and he raised his voice at her. I felt sorry for her and he should not have responded to her like that.

Visited for lunch on the £6 deal that’s been on this week. Absolutely spot on as usual. Food hot and fresh. Lisa was courteous ensuring we were happy with our meal. Staff are always polite and happy. Thank you

Staff overcharged us for a 2 course children’s meal when we had not had this. Our little one had not even been offered dessert, let alone charged for one! The place needs a revamp and also a good clean! Gravy servers were empty so food was also cold by the time they had got it made as the guy explained no gravy was made yet.

Had a lovely lunch today. All the food was well cooked and, as always, the staff were friendly and helpful. A special mention for Lisa who is always cheerful and for whom nothing is too much trouble!
