Makcari's Coffee Lounge - Canterbury

We always visit when we are in herne bay. very nice coffee and if your timing is correct, delicious still warm brotpudding. family friendly, biker friendly (in their leathers for a free coffee) and dog friendly. however, at our visit this week the toilet was not so good. the toilet seat has completely broken down, the floor was sticky and the door was very grubby. it left the place down. I hope that the owners will read these reviews and sort it out asap. it is always our way to place, but there is a lot of competition along the high road.

On our first trip to herne bay, at £21.45, but eating was nice. it was just a coffee between us as they got the order wrong, but the most disappointing thing for us was that it was all their reviews about dog friendly, but we were told that we could not come with our dog, so we ended up in the cold on the not very appealing outside tables. not for dogs for whom I fear that is a real shame, so only 3 stars for us

Called in for a BLT, coffe and and ice cream on our first trip to Herne Bay not cheap at but the food was nice. Ended up with only one coffee between us as they got the order wrong but most disappointing thing...for us was that it was all over their reviews about being dog friendly but we were told that we definitely couldn’t enter with our dog so we ended up eating out in the cold on the not very appealing outside tables. Not for doggy people I am afraid which is a real shame hence only stars for us

Wonderful to see a place like this still surviving. Really friendly people wide choice of traditional food and a mind blowing ice cream menus. Lots of interesting photos of Herne Bay. Some really good meal deals. If they have just made some bread pudding there...maybe still some left, if there is I can very highly recommend that you try the best bread pudding Ever !

A great, friendly place to have dinner. Fish and chips are the best around. john and all the staff are friendly and eager to please. Never a dull face, always happy. Would recommend makcaris every time when visiting herne bay sea front.
