The Heron - Canterbury

If you're in the Herne Bay area, don't miss out on visiting The Heron. I recently enjoyed a wonderful pre-Christmas lunch there. The food was outstanding and the service was flawless. Kudos to everyone at The Heron for a job well done!

Food amazing. Always fresh and homemade which is nice to see as I know a lot of places don’t bother with that anymore. I believe they have a 5+ in hygiene which is one I always look for as it’s not often given out! always recommend to everyone. Staff are friendly and Kim the owner is so lovely! The atmosphere and the welcoming feeling in this family run pub is what sets it aside from the rest. I don’t think enough credit or appreciation goes to this pub for the love and hard work that goes into the food and running. Within these hard times keep up the good work guys

Had the most amazing roast at the heron today. The staff was absolutely amazing they are always so polite and couldn’t do enough for us today, the food is always well cooked, hot and always plenty of food. The landlady and manager Kim is so lovely and friendly and seeing her deal with some REALLY rude customers today she was still so professional. Couldn’t leave without bringing my boyfriend his favourite roast home,so he didn’t miss out. Definitely the best pub around.

During our four-night stay in Herne Bay, we dined at this restaurant each evening. Located away from the busy city center, it offered a quieter and more relaxing atmosphere for us. We concluded our visit with a fantastic Sunday roast that was cooked to perfection and served in generous portions. The chef demonstrated remarkable skill, and the staff were delightful and welcoming. The prices were also very reasonable. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been coming to The Heron on and off for many years, and every time I visit Whitstable to see my husband's uncle, the first thing we do is book Sunday lunch there. The food is amazing and the portions are generous. I try to save room for a feast because the Bailey's and Maltesers cheesecake is delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing, and the staff never rush you. The chef and possibly the owner are also very impressive. Overall, the food and service are outstanding. I can't wait to come back.
