However, I can't give it 5 stars because the black pudding wasn't included in the dish and cost an extra £1.50 for a small slice. Despite this disappointment, I still enjoyed my meal and will likely return to try the Rancher dish. Overall, great place, delicious food, and excellent staff. I recommend it!
I discovered a fantastic spot for breakfast or lunch. The menu was unique compared to the typical restaurants in Canterbury. The staff were incredibly friendly and quick. We enjoyed sitting by the cozy log fire. The peacamole was delicious. I wish this place was closer to my home.
If you're looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch option, you can't go wrong with this place. The food is of high quality and cooked beautifully, unlike your typical greasy spoon fare. The menu is not too overwhelming, but definitely make sure to try something with eggs - they really shine here. I highly recommend the Refectory Grill Up, but recently I've been loving The Rancher with poached eggs, sausage patty, and hollandaise sauce. The paprika potatoes on the side were flavorful and a nice addition. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food you receive, and the service is excellent. Be sure to book ahead, as the restaurant can get busy, but it's worth the wait. Overall, a satisfying dining experience that I highly recommend.
We had a very tasty late lunch/brunch at this establishment recently. Unfortunately, my wife wasn’t able to have a milkshake as the ‘milkshake machine’ was broken…didn’t know you needed one to make a milkshake… However, the Rancher (with a zing of chipotle) and the stack of Buttermilk Pancakes (sweet with the balance of salty crispy bacon) were both very nice washed down with ginger ale lemony lemonade respectively. A good place to have good food.
A bustly place with very professional staff and fun art on the walls. Most important, though, the food was excellent. There was nothing on the breakfast menu we didn't fancy, not least because there were so many imaginative and creative ideas. A great experience.
