This was the reason for our short break, our intention was to take the coastal hike from whitstable to the restaurant, but the typical **** British weather ruined this plan as it was poured with rain! so we came by taxi./ at least large local products served in such a relaxed casual atmosphere. a michelin star pub that is a restaurant, but still feels like a pub. eating was great, loved the presentation of the oysters, the lamb main and greengage soufflé were perfection!
Our short break was meant to include a coastal hike from Whitstable to the restaurant, but the typically rainy British weather forced us to take a taxi instead. Despite the change in plans, we were delighted to find a relaxed and casual atmosphere at the restaurant, along with large local products. This Michelin star pub, although technically a restaurant, still had a cozy pub feel. The food was outstanding, especially the presentation of the oysters, and the lamb main and greengage soufflé were perfect.
On a bed of muddles, then came the oysters – a rock staring with beurre blanc, plucked gurken hering roe a rock tern with rhabarb granita crystallized soultang and, my favorite, a whitstable native with home made chorizo.
This place is a delight. We dined here twice. The service is laid-back and welcoming, and the food is top-notch. For starters, I had the smoked mackerel, which was delicate and not overly oily. For my main course, I tried the hake, which was juicy and perfectly cooked, and the desserts were delicious. They also offer a wide selection of wines, including unique options from the New World at very affordable prices. Plus, you can take a stroll along the Seasalter before or after your meal. I highly recommend this place.
