China Garden - Canton

We didn't enjoy the dishes we ordered at the restaurant. We tried the chicken and shrimp with lobster sauce, but my 94-year-old mother wasn't interested in them.

I had dinner last night and it was awful! The hot and acidic soup was spoiled and tasted strange. The General Tso's chicken was not like the traditional dish, it was more like orange chicken without the orange flavor. It was not spicy and very bland. Overall, it was a complete waste of money.

We placed an order, but they were out of stock of a certain item and failed to inform us. Instead, they substituted it without notifying us. When we ordered meat fried rice, we received only two small pieces of tough meat and bland, overcooked rice. I do not recommend this restaurant.

We ordered garnel, fried rice. we've got tears and we've got to swirl.

I've lived in Hickory Flat for 17 years. China Garden has always been a hit or miss. This is the 2nd miss in 2 months with the same dish Kung Pao Chicken. No problem with the rice, but everything else not so great. Too many petit corn, no onions or bell peppers and an overabundance of celery. (See attached photo) Celery overpowers the other semi-stale incredients and doesnt belong, in my opinion, anywhere in this recipe or near my plate. On a positive note, the lady who took my order was friendly.
