Il Calice Wine - Capaccio

Really nice place right in front of the times of paestum, excellent aperitifs with lots of appetizers! friendly and fast staff! to make a mandatory stop!

I went to Il Calice in a cold rainy day after visiting the beautiful temples just across the street. My friends and me we were looking for a place to eat when we met the owner (and cook) of this restaurant by the street who invited us to go inside and have a seat. We were the only customers in there at that moment, and we received a very special attention from the owner family the father was cooking, the son was serving and the mother was in the next table giving us the opportunity to practice our Italian with her. They suggested us a plate with local foods as appetizers which was amazing! As main dish they served us a lasagna bolognese and it was perfect, too. As a dessert they offered us a glass of Vin Santo with the famous cantuccini biscuits and it was memorable! With this sequence of flavors we travelled from Campania, to Emilia Romana and then to Toscana. My experience by Il Calice was over my expectations and I’ll certainly return there in my next visit to Paestum and surroundings.

Good antipasti,great selection of wines, chilled jazz music and the view make this place unmis.sable. Guido and his family are just wonderful. Love it here, return again and again
