We visited Sottopoggio regularly during an extended stay near Lucca and every single time we were not disappointed. Many friends also asked to visit again, having been the once. The drinks, cakes, morning pastries and lunches are all delicious and always mouthwateringly fresh. It is always busy with locals who also visit regularly so that's reassuring. We are going to miss our visits!

Gestopt na een hele lange rit op de Vespa. We kwamen hier voorbij voor een snelle hap en drankje. Belegde broodjes, pizzakoekjes, Aperol en een biertje. Zeer vriendelijke bediening. De bardame kwam ons nog 4 extra pizzakoekjes brengen…. Zomaar!

Whilst staying at La Pergola in Verciano we often visited this bar for our morning cappuccino and pattiserie. To the extent we also bought a box of mixed cakes home to the detriment of our waistline. Despite it being immensely popular the staff are highly efficient and friendly. Not to be missed.

Located just a very short car trip South of Lucca, this Pattiserie Bar offers amazing value and, is well worth a visit. Splendid assortment of mouth watering pattiserie to choose from. Two coffees with cakes will cost you the same price as one coffee in the Old Town.
