Vecchia Osteria Da Batano - CAPANNORI

Returned to this restaurant and was again very happy with the excellent food and service. We ordered the tordelli (reminiscent of my Italian grandmother’s) and sliced beef to share. Our meal was paired with a lovely local wine, suggested by the owner. The view below to the Lucca area is exceptional. I would highly recommend this family establishment.

We were there 2 times during our trip. Very delicious. We had taglionini tartufa, insalata di mare, bistecca alla Fiorentina and more…everything excellent ! Service a little bit complicated during the order but otherwise everybody very polite! I recommend 100

I really disappointed about the service received last time. I normally enjoyed this place a lot and came here time to time we only came when not many people were in though , however the last time we came for dinner when there were quite a lot of people and the restaurant definitely couldn’t cope with all that. The chief was doing well descents I would say, nothing special, especially don’t advise rovellina it’s meat under the tomato sause, everything else was fine , the young girl kept on forgetting to bring what we’ve asked for including the bill, so we had to wait for 20 mins for mustard my bf had to pick it up when my food was cold already and bill. When I came inside to ask for the bill again after good 30 mins later as I was tired, and complained about waiting the guy only asked me if I had the mask?! I told him that I wasn’t supposed to have it as I WASNT SUPPOSED TO GO INSIDE TO PICK UP MY FREAKING BILL !!! Instead of excusing himself it’s easy you just say,“ we are very very sorry madam for that inconvenience, we will bring the bill upright” , instead he told me off and came to the table where my friends were sitting and told my Italian bf that he is not happy that I came inside without the mask and that I need to calm down I can’t believe that staff can complain to my bf about my behaviour, in my business aesthetic clinic in central London even if the kids don’t behave nice we don’t tell off their mothers or at least excuse ourselves 1000 times and here they complained about me, 30 years old lady to another guest can you imagine?!!!! I’m writing that ready to cry how terrible I felt , would forget that place as a nightmare , would never ever recommend it to anyone and would not come back . As a customer they see and know I don’t expect to get such a service. I can’t say anything about the lovely lady blond, short hairstyle who works there she knows what she is doing well. It’s a pity that they don’t respect their customers; So guys think twice before coming as you can be disappointed.

è uno dei miei ristoranti preferiti intorno alla lacca per la qualità del cibo, buoni prezzi e vista panoramica. panna pistacchio lavanderia, burrata e splendida pancetta croccante ma anche altri primi. stench di maiale con lente, tenero, con patate, superlativo. torta di formaggio di frutta, oca. assolutamente provare
