My fiance proposed at Leapin’ Lizard so it was a natural choice for our engagement party. We had over 50 friends and family for a large party to announce our engagment. Sailfish dining room and bar with our own bartender were provided at no extra cost. The Ahi Appetizer, Crab Cakes, Lettuce Wraps, Wings, Spicey seafood rolls, Shrimp, Oysters and BarBQue Ribs were great. Service was wonderful. The bartenders danced on the bar and the owner brought us a complementary bottle of champagne for our celebration. There was free live music all evening with a Key West saloon singer on the Tin Roof Stage, followed by a well known southern rock band on the Mermaid Stage. Dancing lasted until 2 AM. After last call, we were offered breakfast including waffles, bacon and eggs. Leapin’ Lizard’s staff especially Jillian, Sarah and Tyler made our special night memorable and fun. The evening was VERY affordable for a young couple with a tight budget, the food was fantastic with beautiful presentation. The atmosphere and ambiance is Key West Casual and the service made us feel like we were royalty!
We love the Lizard. It’s a fun place to go and the food is good. The waitresses have always been super! Good entertainment. Lots of action
My friends and i have tried the leaping lizard several times over the past month, on our first visit, we waited for 20 min just to be greeted, when we were we were told, "what do you want?’, asked for a menu and was handed a piece of paper being told it was a new menu, surprisingly the food was good, tacos and ceviche…next time we came in, it was a different menu, employees still very rude, complaining about there pay and lack of tips, this establishment changes on a weekly basis and i will never come back and will suggest nobody to ever go there, the menu has changed again and now there are on sandwiches with the same rude service…..if you would like to waste your money, time and be treated rudely…this is the place for you!!!
We had a great time at the Leapin; Lizard Bar Party Place. We started off with Caribbean Ceviche $11.99, w/ Shrimp, Scallops Bay Fish marinated in Key Lime Lemon juice tossed in homemade Mango Salsa. Hardy ordered Baja Fish Tacos $7.99 w/ fresh Gulf Fish grilled and tossed in Mago Salsa Shredded Cabbage on a soft four Tortilla. Marie had the wonderful Yellow Fin Tuna w/ sesame Seared Ahi served on Garlic Crustini with Wasabi, Fresh Ginger, Scallion, and Red Pepper. My choice was wonderful Flamin’ Baked Oysters $11.99 and a big bowl of 2 Alarm Chili Cornbread $5.99 that was topped with diced onions cheese. Hardy was still hungry and ordered a tasty Black Bean dip with Chips $5.99. All the food was great! We were stuffed as the portions were large. We could choose from 35 different beers, hand crafted, domestic, international. The Lizard has a wonderful variety of Gourmet Iced Teas, sweet, green raspberry, peach and black pekoe. Maria picked a big two for the price of one Frozen Rum Runner. Chuck Peterson was a local talent singing in the main bar. Everyone had a great time dancing. Around 8:00 pm a band called the Mixx arrived in the back bar. There are three bars, plus outside patio seating where you can bring your family pet. There were some cute puppies with big bowls of ice water and treats sitting beside their owners on the patio. After dancing off our dinner, Hardy ordered a Southern Comfort Bread Pudding $4.99. It was incredible and enough for four people! We will go back to the Leapin’ Lizard Party Place soon, it is one of our favorites in Cape Coral.
