Backstreet Simply Delicious - CAPE MAY

If you really like to pay premium prices for frozen fish and veggies, this is your place. The food is a fusion of nursing home and cafeteria food. They served freezer-burned tilapia as sea bass. Skip this place if your taste buds function. There are many other restaurant choices in Cape May that actually serve fresh fish.

Everything was great, other than the hostess. She made us feel like we were unwelcome and was hostile when 2 of our guests were 5 minutes late. I would not return due to the unfriendly treatment.

Visited Backstreet for dinner with hubby, it was so good we went back 2 nights later with a party of 8. Most of us did the Prix Fixe, all of the choices for salad, main and desert were wonderful. Two of our party tried the lamb chops and lobster bisque and they were delighted with them. The service was wonderful, bread is a treat and bringing our own wine made it festive and affordable.

We have dinner at Backstreet Cafe a few times every summer when we visit Cape May. Always a great experience. Friendly service, nice ambience and simply delicious fresh food...
