Great sushi at an affordable price , the setting is not as bad as people made it out to me,your typical Asian restaurant vibe, effort spent on food rather than interior design. Highlights of our meal where the rainbow reloaded and ponzu salmon sashimi, these were great
I've just moved into the area and people told me Andy's sushi is an underrated gem. They weren't wrong. I had the vegetarian California rolls and the veg spring rolls both really tasty and super cheap. And we shared a bottle of Pierre Jourdaan which cost R98 (anyone who knows the going price of wine at a restaurant will know how MAJOR that is! Unbelievably cheap). Andy's is by no means fancy in fact it looks a little worse for wear, like a hole in the wall but the food is good and really well priced. Perfect for a mid week treat. I'm about to become a regular.
I had read Andy’s story somewhere online about how he used to work at Willoughby’s and then set up his own shop in Seapoint. I had to make my way over there as I am a huge fan of Willoughby’s sushi but my wallet less so.<br/ <br/ Décor wise it is definitely very different to its Waterfront big brother, it looks like any cliché Chinese restaurant. I’m all about the food so it doesn’t bother me, plus you can just sit outside if you want. The sushi was delicious! If I compare it to Willoughby’s its maybe a bit less fresh, high quality fish and slightly smaller but it is half the price. What do you expect! It’s still much nicer than most other sushi places. <br/ <br/ If you don’t want to break the bank but you feel like some good sushi, head over to Andy’s for a Rainbow Reloaded and some rock shrimp.
My family and I went to this unassuming sushi place for dinner last night (me for the first time) and the sushi I had blew me away! I had the 4X4 (which should be familiar to anyone who has had the dish of the same name at Willoughbys), which was majestically tasty! It was so fresh and flavourful. Everyone else's dishes looked and smelt equally tasty. The decor is pretty kitch and the restaurant small but none of that matters because the food is amazing and exceptionally well priced. So if you're looking for affordable sushi, this is the place!
