Intimate dining with an interesting menu and a good wine list. I've been here twice and tried new things, on both occasions. First time I tried quail and pig tails, ever...I enjoyed at least one of them! Interesting experience. Friendly staff. I will definitely return when I'm feeling adventurous again
We started our meal with a delicious green salad topped with shaved parmesan cheese. For our main dishes, my wife ordered the Hake with chard and lemon, which was excellent. I opted for the roast quail with chips and aioli, and it was very good. For dessert, we enjoyed the floating island madeleines, which were both excellent. The restaurant has a small but nice wine list to complement the meal.
The food is still very good. But the menu orientation has changed a lot. They started with a very organ meat orientation cooked in a traditional french way, but now it is more like a normal cape townian restaurant with only 2 menu items that are organs. But I understand that for Cape Town that was perhaps a little bit too exotic. Anyway, very good food experience. Just dont like the cold deco and the chairs will come back.
Local with a French touch. Favourite: Brains on toast. Nice wines. Casual, great service. Take some Madelaines home!
