The Common Cup Amity - Cardiff Bay

My girlfriend and I had breakfast at The Common Cup in Amity, and had a very bad experience. You pay when you order, so I tipped then. But they didn't serve us like they had been tipped. I ordered my girlfriend a iced mocha, and I a orange juice. We both had waffles and I had additional Hash Brown waffle that came with a poached egg that I had asked to be well done with no runny yoke. I also ordered seasonal fruit for my girlfriend. It took some time to get our order, but that I understood because they were busy. But the food came out before the drinks, and when asked about our drinks, they realized that they forgot to make them. Also the fruit never came because the girl who took our order on a notepad had forgotten to ring it up on the register. And to top it all off, my stomach turned because my egg yoke was runny. I wanted to like this place because I have lived in Amity for a year and a half, but I will never return or suggest it to anyone.

Good place, it's all about the people, the food and drinks.

A genuine pleasure! The ladies who operate this restaurant are fantastic! The coffee is excellent, and the waffles are both tasty and unique! We sampled the Oregon berry and the fig jam, and they were delightful.

What a lovely little spot! The interior is absolutely charming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We had a great time enjoying the covered patio outside (complete with heaters!). There was plenty of room for the kids to move around, and they even have a shelf of games to keep everyone entertained while you wait. We tried three different types of waffles and enjoyed each one. The cardamom latte was particularly delicious! We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place to anyone. They earn extra points for their kindness to our children!

We visited for the first time and had a fantastic experience! The food was delicious, the location is great with plenty of shops nearby, and the staff was wonderful. On our second visit, we brought my in-laws along, and while the location, staff, and fun table games were still top-notch, I noticed some issues that affected our meal. Due to unfortunate mishaps with the breaker and waffle iron, my food arrived cold, primarily because of the timing—specifically, the long cooking time for the poached egg made the hash brown and savory waffles cold by the time they reached our table. My in-laws were quite bothered by it and ended up sending one order back. I was really hungry, though, so I decided to eat the cold savory waffle. They did offer to remake the hashbrown waffle for us, which was appreciated. Overall, the waffles, especially the sourdough one, are amazing! I also highly recommend their matcha latte.
