The Discovery - Cardiff

I hosted my daughter's baby shower in the function room on March 5th, and I feel compelled to share my experience. First, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredibly friendly staff who went above and beyond for us. The function space was set up exactly as we had envisioned. The food was nothing short of excellent and plentiful, so a big thank you to the chef. I would highly recommend this venue—five stars!

Today, I struggled to find a place for a family dinner while they visited Wales. We ended up at a wonderful restaurant with a great atmosphere and fantastic, helpful staff. The brand was excellent and attentive to all our needs. We visited with my two elderly grandparents, both of whom have dementia, and we truly appreciated the friendly service and the extra time the staff took with them. We will definitely be coming back!

We tried the bone-in steak, which was very good but not quite perfect. The service was friendly and efficient, and the bartender was nice. However, the vinegar, spices, and other condiments should have been on the table before the food arrived. By the time our French mustard arrived, our steak had already cooled down. Despite this, we would consider visiting again.

Had a nice eating great service from bar staff to our table, not much on the menu that I liked, but my sirloin steak was very nice, but a little expensive.

6 of us went on a Sunday lunchtime and enjoyed the experience. Above average quality food with pub classics (not Sundays) and specials such as pan fried Sea bass with haddock cockle chowder. BOGOF on some (not all) dishes Monday Tuesday nights. Sunday lunch was very good. Busy on Sunday lunchtimes so book! Service was efficient even though they were busy. Large interior with pub style bar and separate lounge/eating area. Nicely decorated and a pleasant place to be. Good, beer wine and gin selection, some cocktails.
