The Old Cottage - Cardiff

This is one of my favorite pubs to go to regularly. The food is consistently delicious, I have never had a bad meal here. The service is attentive without being overbearing. The facilities are great, especially if you have a dog as the bar area is very comfortable. I highly recommend this place.

There is a wide variety of options on the menu, catering to all ages. The service was excellent, with cheerful and helpful staff who even took our birthday cake and brought it out lit for our young daughter. The food had generous portions and was delicious. I highly recommend this lovely place, as the staff truly made the experience enjoyable. The restaurant was warm in the beautiful sunshine, but may benefit from some coolers or air conditioning to make guests more comfortable.

A family member made a reservation for us a few months in advance at this restaurant. One member of our party is gluten-free/vegetarian. We were told that both the regular menu and the Father's Day 3-course meal would be available, but this was not the case. There was no gluten-free bread and only one vegetarian starter. We had to ask for something to be specially made for them. Additionally, there were no scallops left for starters, so we had to choose different options. The main dishes were served lukewarm and some sides were forgotten and brought out after we had finished our meal. We were left without drinks for a long time in a hot restaurant. The Espresso Martinis were served in whiskey glasses and our desserts sat in front of us getting cold as we waited for spoons. Throughout the meal, we noticed staff standing around or chatting while customers waited. The bill was incorrect and had to be adjusted. Overall, we spent £400 at the restaurant but were disappointed and would not return.

Wow ! This stunning little pub/restaurant really delivers. Tried it for the first time and was not disappointed. Immaculately clean , the staff are 2nd to none in delivering top class service . We both went for the belly pork and crackling roast dinner , it has to be the tastiest roast I've had when dining out, for me the gravy is the crown on any roast , in this place the gravy is bottomless and stunning . For a treat we both went for the apple damson crumble with a small saucepan of custard, was amazing . Would advise to book in advance , try it , you will not be disappointed

Very nice presentation just the roast could be warmer but delicious taste for roast and dessert and the drinks were well presented in lovely glass and garnishes!
