The music is soft, and it is a big place with a lounge in the front that is good for kids and relaxing. It is always full and has nice cakes and superb coffee. Unlike old cafes, it doesn't smell like old dusty books.
I have had the pleasure of taking tea and coffee breaks at The Book Station, situated on Kingsway in Caringbah. They offer a fantastic selection of T2 teas and delicious coffee, as well as a diverse range of food options. The best part is that it also serves as a wonderful second-hand book store, with an extensive collection of titles and a "buy back" program. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is perfect for a peaceful break.
Popped in for a coffee and was surprised to find the lounge space towards the back. Comfy with decent coffee. Books by the thousands are there to be read. Good concept in a time where everything is turning digital. Would be good to see more places like this.
Have only ever browsed bought books at the Station but have watched the passing clientele enjoy their coffee/tea and snacks ! Plenty of mums sit downstairs and relax as their offspring attack the shelves ! A great idea that is still going strong , thankfully , several decades on from it's start in Gymea !!
While the food was good the atmosphere is spoiled by having the few tables so close together. It is just the way the cafe is positioned. There are thousands of books which of course gives it its name however maybe some less books and a few more tables spaced a bit apart would better serve the public.
