Markie's Montreal Smoked Meat

We keep returning to Markie's because of the excellent service and tasty food! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but we strongly suggest trying the fish and chips or the smoked meat club platter. The gravy is also outstanding, so make sure to add it to your meal or order a poutine. Thank you, Markie's for a great dining experience!

I’ve always been a big fan of Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwiches with the meat piled high. Very good sandwich and very cheap for what you get. Only $12 for an 8oz meat sandwich, which they could very well charge $14-15 for these days. Solid place, will definitely come again!

I just used Skip the Dish to have delivered. Club sandwich to the Civic Hospital. Very disappointed. The chicken was disgusting. It was so rubbery I couldn’t even bit through it. I had to take it off the sandwich and pitch it. The restaurant also sent NO napkins, NO cutlery, and NO condiments (ketchup, salt, pepper). I guess people in hospitals are suppose to eat with their fingers. For $30.00 not worth the money.

Their smoke meat plates are very good. I thought I would try the smoke meat poutine, it was just ok. Maybe it's better when dining in.

Having been born and raised in Montreal where I lived for half of my life, I did not think that I would find a smoke meat even close to anything from home. BUT I was wrong, this well kept Ottawa secret serves all their food starting w/ the smoke meat to the fries, and coleslaw always fresh and melt in your mouth delicious. Always enjoy chatting w/ the staff watching the ongoing 'Just for Laughs Gags; brings back fond MTL memories keeps me in stiches. The food venue are next to none.
