I got the all day breakfast with Lorne sausage and my husband got the Homemade Macaroni Cheese. Both meals were cooked fresh and hot plenty to fill us at lunch time. Value for money. Will definitely be back.
Called today for lunch lovely village pub with a very good food menu and prices very competitive we both ordered the All Day Breakfast it was served piping hot and very generous portions it was one of the best Breakfasts I have ever tasted. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. We cannot understand the negative comments made in some reviews as we could not find fault with this lovely pub. Will definitely be returning. Keep up the good work.
Our experience at this restaurant was poor. We were visiting friends who live in the area and received a cold reception at the bar. When we inquired about available tables, we were rudely told that our friend couldn't be heard. Despite ordering drinks and sitting at a table, we were not asked if we wanted food like at other welcoming places. When my friend went to the bar for menus, we were informed that they couldn't serve us food because they were too busy, even though there were tables already eating and others reserved but unoccupied. We felt extremely unwelcome and annoyed, especially considering we had young children who were hungry. The lack of hospitality left a lasting impression, and I would not recommend this pub to others. The landlord could benefit from finding a different line of work, as interacting with the public does not appear to be one of their strengths. It's best to avoid this establishment.
We visited again today after spending the day with friends. The pub was not very busy, with only a few tables occupied. It was early, around 5pm, and raining, so no one was sitting outside. Once again, we received a cold welcome. We ordered drinks at the bar and sat at an empty table, only to be told by the owner that no food was available because two tables were reserved. The owner didn't bother to inform us himself or ask if we intended to eat when we first arrived. No apology was offered. In my experience, other places would proactively inform customers if the kitchen was closed or there would be a wait for food. While we didn't make a reservation, it was early and nearby restaurants like Drover's Rest Inn and King's Arms are always accommodating and welcoming. The Greyhound, on the other hand, was not busy and didn't seem willing to accommodate us. If they can't handle a few tables on a rainy day, I can only imagine how they would be on a busy, sunny day with more outdoor seating. We won't be returning as we clearly weren't welcome. We'll stick to other local establishments that are more friendly and welcoming.
Have visited this establishment on a few occasions recently and was not disappointed good food and great location only downside we felt the staff could of been a bit friendlier especially the male behind the bar who brought us out meal also cleared away our plates not once did he ask was everything ok it had we enjoyed our meal !! Fortunately we had enjoyed our meal did return will return again just hope he has a customer service course that will make the place 5* then !!
