Mammas Fish - Carlisle

This place doesn’t look like a chippie when you walk in but don’t be deterred it’s the real deal. The fish is top quality, the batter tasty and the mushy peas excellent. Good portion size and well priced. Very friendly staff too. Highly recommend

We went in do I could get the gluten free fish in batter as advertised on their window display. It was cooked fresh so I had to wait for a while but it was worth it. The fish was fresh and the batter very cripy. I was also offered GF vinegar which was a nice touch.

Called in at 5.15, although owner was due to close at 6.00 and I was last customer of the day. Felt guilty but I was made to feel welcome and was served the most fabulous fish and chips. Worked out that had probably eaten there 20 years ago and it was still great.

We needed fish and chips for an open morning we were doing. We pre ordered, all was ready on time, well packaged, the service (by Ellis and Ahmed) was fantastic. Value and portion size was amazing!
