The Drovers Rest - Carlisle

Put simply, we just had one of the best pub dinners we’ve ever had. Their hot dog Cumberland sausages are made on site, as is the bread, and portions are generous. The starters “beer food” were stunning too. Our girls described the ice-cream as the “best ever”. I would post more superlatives but I’m too full! Highly recommended. (The cask ale was great too!

What a find! We’re a vegetarian vegan, and had specifically hunted for pubs doing vegan food. We weren’t disappointed. We both had the Stumpie Tart and it tasted amazing. A good selection for both veggies, vegan and gluten free. Friendly welcome. The owner recommended the veggie deli dog so I guess we’ll have to go back

Absolutely outstanding food service. Passionate business is a successful business and these guys are smashing it on every level. If you want delicious, comforting locally sourced food, great portions at a fair price you will not be disappointed.

A classic English countryside pub with an affordable yet elevated creative menu and incredibly kind staff a must if you're in the area. The deep fried beer cheese scones were an absolute treat.

Yesterday at The Drivers Rest was called and was felt very welcome from the outset, the staff are friendly attentive and well maintained, with intrusive. The menu is refreshingly different from many breweries, so the choice is very good. The food was well presented, well cooked and very tasty as well as well proportional. There is also a very good choice of craft ales next to camp and cedar We will definitely call again to The Drivers Rest very soon
