18 of us came here to eat for a family meal, the staff were outstanding and couldn’t do enough for us. We ordered a wide variety of meals and they all were the best quality and piping hot when they came out. The food was all very tasty and the best standard. I would strongly recommend eating here.
We stayed in one of their on-site static caravans for a motorcycle tour of the borders with a couple of friends. We arrived just before the last food orders and enjoyed a nice meal at the restaurant. On the second night, we cooked in the caravan. It was a lovely place with friendly people.
We received a lovely warm welcome at the restaurant! We arrived early at around 6 and had the whole place to ourselves. The Cumberland sausage was excellent and the chips were very tasty. After taking a break and walking around the room, we indulged in the syrup pudding with custard. It was heavenly! Although I would have taken photos, no one wants to see empty plates!
Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch, lovely food, portions very generous, great pint, very friendly staff and landlady. Could have done with an extra server to speed up service but it’s hard to know how busy you will be in advance, and it was very busy which was lovely to see for a country pub. 5 adults and two kids fed and (generously) watered for £80. Can’t go wrong Will definitely be back.
