Thyme - Carlisle

Turned up to hotel at 15:30 to be told i cant have a drink and that the food doesn't get served till 18:00. This is a joke when i finish work i want a nice cold pint, not a lady giving me some attitude telling me i cant have a pint because she isn't aloud to serve me a beer. I mean what is goin on here its half 3 in the afternoon and i cant have a beer! place needs shutting down instantly.

We stopped for dinner whilst staying locally. The waiters and waitresses were lovely and really helpful. Unfortunately the food was terrible. Both the burger and chicken and bacon from the caesar salad were burnt. Would not recommend nor will we be returning.

I recently enjoyed a delightful early evening meal at this restaurant. The staff was lovely, the food was reasonably priced and delicious. It was the perfect beginning to a special holiday.

Restricted menu,in other words no staff,..think there were 5 mains to choose from and a couple of starters. Quality was not the best,quantity was even worse,good job I wasn't that hungry

We had reserved four cooked breakfasts at this restaurant. During the pandemic and beyond, self-service was wisely discontinued and all food was made to order. This seemed to be working well as customers were enjoying decent meals. However, on the first two mornings, we found that self-service had been reintroduced. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was awful, with items being hard, shrivelled, and dried up. The breakfast spread reminded us of something you might find in a tacky seaside souvenir shop. Many items were also unavailable, despite being listed on a board outside. Luckily, on our last two mornings, the breakfasts were made to order and were significantly better. We would like to express our gratitude and commend Barbara for her exceptional service. She went above and beyond and truly shone as a standout employee. Good staff like her are hard to come by. However, there are still some issues that need addressing, such as shortages and a malfunctioning coffee machine that was unusable during our stay. Due to these issues, we chose to dine elsewhere in central Carlisle in the evenings.
