Hickory Ridge -creamery-country Store-catering

We have lunch here on our way to Allentown from SC. The small independent restaurant is conveniently located directly from I-81. We sat fast and ordered our drinks. My wife had the Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie with chips and in-law. Very good. I had pigs and herb. Head up... this is not served in the traditional way. The herb is mixed with a small amount of shredded pork. Seasoned ok but needs more meat. The broccoli and the Rotskin potato salad were great. Excellent service. Great stop!

It seems like Boomers really enjoy this place. Although I'm a bit younger, I appreciate the charm that appeals to an older crowd. It was encouraging to see so many people giving us a thumbs up and mentioning the wait time. I ordered the turkey with stuffing, but next time, I’ll opt for something less salty—it was quite overwhelming. The meat and stuffing were delicious, though. Are we really using real potatoes? The presence of potato flakes suggests they might not be putting in the effort. My wife tried the breakfast pancakes and bacon, and she couldn’t stop raving about the bacon, especially. The restaurant was quite busy in 2022, which reflects its popularity! The prices were reasonable too. Next time, I’ll definitely explore their BBQ or seafood options!

I was staying at a nearby motel for business and heard an employee rave about the meat at this restaurant. Naturally, I decided to join my staff for dinner there. I ordered the three-way BBQ sampler, which included ribs, brisket, and Texas meatloaf. It was the best meat I’ve ever had! The brisket was particularly tender and full of flavor. While I wasn't particularly impressed with the ribs, they were decent and fell right off the bone. The highlight for me was the pumpkin cheesecake—made locally and homemade! It was so delicious that I found myself wanting a whole cake! I highly recommend this place; the prices are reasonable, and although the portions are on the smaller side, if you return, you definitely won’t regret it!

We had our first experience with them yesterday at a wedding they catered, and everything was amazing. The beef brisket, vegetables, macaroni and cheese, grilled chicken, rolls, and apple butter were all delicious. It was so good that we decided to visit their restaurant for more tasty food tonight. The turkey was like Thanksgiving dinner—incredible and moist—and my husband absolutely loved the pulled pork. They also offer gluten-free menu options. We don't visit Carlisle often, but we will definitely return to Hickory Ridge!

Stopped here on our road trip and had a delicious home cooked meal and cold refreshing sweet tea. Waitress was very friendly and the service was impressive. Stopped here again on our way back home and had the fried chicken. By far hands down the best fried chicken I've ever had!. I am not one to be bothered writing reviews but, this chicken was incredible. Same great customer service. We will keep this restaurant in our book of places to stop.
