Regarding the food, I had hoped for more flavorful dishes. The escargot was enjoyable, and the foie gras was a delightful novelty for me. However, the beef Wellington was lacking in flavor and left me wishing for more sauce to enhance it. Unfortunately, my husband’s portion was too raw to eat, and we ended up giving those parts to our dog. His steak was significantly undercooked, practically blue, while mine was at least medium rare. Although he felt too anxious to complain, I encouraged him to say something, but he didn’t. As for dessert, the crème brûlée islands were tasty but made me feel like I was paying for substantially less. It left me feeling taken advantage of. The brownie was just a basic chocolate brownie, without any special qualities. Overall, I can't shake the feeling that the restaurant did not live up to the expectations set by its prices. I truly regret dining here, especially after enjoying places like Cafe Sparrow in Aptos, where the quality and taste are impeccable and much more reasonably priced.
The service was fantastic! The atmosphere and the charming little patio were wonderful as well. I rated the food 4 stars instead of 5 because I was let down by the beef Wellington. It seems to be a popular choice, but I personally found it lacking. However, the artichoke soup was amazing, the diver scallops were INCREDIBLE, and I really enjoyed the dessert. Overall, it's the best restaurant in Carmel. The chef truly puts a lot of love into his dishes.
Excellent across the board. Especially the sweet breads and duck.
We had a decent meal but the sides for our main dishes were very bland (steamed veggies) they really needed a sauce or seasoning. For the quality of food I’d say it’s very over priced.
