Cold rock hard toast ‘poached eggs, Again hard and completely ruined. Very very average shame but I won’t ever be going back.
Went for a ride on the motorcycles to Masonmill for a coffee and maybe cake. On arrival was met by the RUDEST waitress who manhandled my eldest son out of the way and said sharply to us you can 't come in here for a coffee you have to go to the beer garden!!! When I tried to order an almond cappuccino at the beer garden, they then told me SHARPLY to go back into the resturant. So not wanting to go through being treated like rubbish again we elected for two normal cappuccino 's........which looked tasted TERRIBLE!!! NEVER AGAIN. Steer well clear of the Masonmill 'rat hole!! '
Went for high tea and it was a very pleasant experience. Our lady that served us was called Shelley and she went above and beyond with her service to us. When we first walked in she welcomed us individually not just as a group which I found very personal. Took a photo of us without having to ask and was very warm and friendly the whole time. Not once did we feel rushed or we needed to leave. Thanks Shelley your were wonderful and we will definitely come back.
We were at Masonmill two weekend in a row for weddings, and also dined at their indoor cafe restaurant after one wedding for lunch. It was a nice 30min drive from Willetton to Carmel it was our first time there for weddings, after reading the mixed reviews online, we were pleased to advise that both experience were positive. Sally Max were both polite helpful as event liaison for weddings, and their secret garden next to the manicured French garden offers a nice backdrop when the weather is perfect. French Garden is a good Alternative if weather is effy, as they have a huge auto retractable pergola to keep out the rain tho that also keep out the natural light view too unfortunately). We have our 2yo girl newborn boy when lunching at their cafe. We found most of the younger staff were all friendly, at the cashier, serving food or taking photo, even our requests for boiling water to heat up bottle milk. While we noted some reviews expressing concerns with lack of child friendly facilities staff attitude, we were glad to find the cups of color pencils drawing papers provided there were enough to keep our 2yo occupied, most staff were accommodating to children’s needs, including the inevitable Small mess. We ordered their special lamb shank kangaroo pasta with hot drinks, they were served within 15min delicious too. Our start time of 1145am may have helped before the lunch rush hour later. Overall our positive experience has warranted us to return in the future again. Tip 1: booking ahead of schedule is preferable, they have a 2 hr sitting window per booking Tip 2: for easier access to restaurant wedding gardens, drive past the car parks next to the koi pond mini golf, and park uphill in a shady shelter car park just outside the cafe entrance Tip 3: as noted by other reviews, free drinking water stations are abundance and is self served so if this expectation is managed, it will also avoid unnecessary issues with the waitstaff.
The restaurant offers a charming atmosphere, with well-kept surroundings and a friendly staff. The morning tea was enjoyable, and I can only imagine how stunning the gardens must be in springtime.
