Mr Jalapeño - Carmi

We've been fans of Guadalajara in Grayville since it opened! Needless to say, we were so excited when Mr. Jalapeño opened three minutes from our house! They are owned and operated by the same people.Before Mr. Jalapeño opened in Carmi, we were regulars at Guadalajara. Now, we eat quite regularly at Mr. Jalapeño.The food is always good, always fresh, and the portions are sizeable. No complaints there. I've been on a shredded chicken nacho kick lately.Lately, we have noticed that the staff wait staff in particular hasn't been too friendly or welcoming. When we request something, the server acts like we're interrupting them. There are two servers who have been almost rude to us.Luckily, we go for the food. We can tolerate the service.

One of the better Mexican restaurants around. Friendly fast service. Excellent food. The carnitas burrito ? is one the best things I've ever had. Keep up the good work!

Very friendly service. We were from out of town and was treated the same as a local. Just old Mexican food. I will be going back when we are back that way.

My husband ordered a ribeye steak with no onions. He received a t- bone smothered in onions. I ordered beef tacos and received chicken tacos. We will not be returning.

I wish I could give negative stars, but here I am. Horrible service. Horrible experience. He took our drink or and dropped them off and then never returned. He sat at the bar with his friend watching tv. After waiting for 20 minutes to get our order for food taken, we decided to just leave. We made eye contact with him around three times and even waved to him down, and yet he sat watching tv. I hope the show was good enough to miss a chance at a lot of money and a nice tip. He even checked us out when we left and never apologized, but still made us pay SEVEN DOLLARS for our two drinks that were never refilled. If you’re looking for no service, getting ignored and some free chips and salsa, this is the perfect place for you. Lol, sorry for the rant, but that was just so crappy.
