I am willing to pay extra to get it from a hibachi restaurant instead of a Chinese restaurant because I expect larger shrimp and better quality. However, I was extremely disappointed with what I received for $17.50 plus a $1.50 tip. The shrimp were small and low quality, and the fried rice had a burnt smell and taste. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Now, onto the issue with the waiter. I don't mind paying for good food, but it's frustrating to see a $23 gratuity added to my bill without my consent. I prefer to tip based on the service I receive, and it's disappointing when gratuity is automatically included because it seems like the staff doesn't need to check on their customers. Additionally, my grandkids ended up eating rice off our plates, and our bill came to a hefty $145.00.
I am typically very critical of restaurants, always evaluating cleanliness and decor first. I also prioritize service, ordering process, and seating arrangements. This place exceeded all of my expectations. It was incredibly clean, the service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.
This place is half hibachi grill, half sushi bar. My review is solely of the sushi side, which has been a fantastic experience each time. I promise I'll try the hibachi side... next time. It was pretty busy when we arrived, and most were families for thehibachi side. The hostess was also our server so she was really working the whole floor and doing so with a pleasant energy smile (you could easily tell, even under her mask). After selecting multiple items from multiple menus, while stillcontemplating the ramifications of ordering more, a gentleman stopped by with our drinks. Nigori and Sapporo, party started!???? I think we were the most lively table in there, but it is a nice atmosphere... even without us there. We laughed jokedwith the staff, and then our house salads arrived, gifting the other diners with a few moments of silence while we chewed moaned like cattle grazing. Next time, I will order two house salads for myself. Appetizers for the evening included the MonkeyBall, an absolute go to favorite. So. Good. We also got fried Goyza, chicken yakitori, shrimp yakitori. All were amazing...protip; don't neglect the sauce that drips off the yakitori hangs out on the plate. ???? We finished off with the Sunset roll, which was good...kinda vanilla. The Texas Ranger Roll came to bat though knocked it out of the park. Round the bases, andbring it home! Damn, that's a good roll. Little spice, lots of flavor. A great dining experience, made even better when ourserver brought us a farewell shot each of Nigori, which cements my opinion of her awesomeness. Great time, every time here atMasu. UPDATE: Today on a return visit, everything was still amazing as usual. However, we again ordered the sunset roll thistime it had a good amount of spice was rather good compared to the previous visit. We also ordered the paradise roll thispaid with the sunset roll was an absolute flavor bomb. Nice heat from the sunset roll is excellently complimented b
The food quality was great and the chef did the usual things you do at a hibachi restaurants. $83 including tip for 2 people with 2 item combo each. I was a tad taken aback by the $2.50 per person charge for fried rice… overall, I’m not sure it wasworth what we paid for just lunch on a Sunday.
