Sam's House Bbq - Carrollton

I had never been to Carrollton, Georgia, and never expected to visit, but here I am, and I was feeling hungry. Right across the street from my hotel is a fantastic little barbecue spot called Sam's House BBQ. The owner, who is also the chef, is a really nice guy. Some of the items I wanted to order weren’t available since it was close to closing time. He kindly mentioned that he could serve them to me, but he wouldn't feel right doing so because they wouldn’t be up to his standards. So, I chose some other options, and my meal turned out to be amazing. I had chopped BBQ pork and smoked sausage, accompanied by collard greens, baked beans, and peach cobbler. I would highly recommend this place. It’s not a fine dining establishment; it’s a genuine barbecue joint, so don’t go in expecting any frills.

If you find yourself wandering around the square, you can't miss the mouthwatering aroma wafting from Sam's House BBQ! The smoky, delicious scent will cling to you, making you smell just like this wonderful place. It brought back memories of camping barbecue nights, which was lovely for my fiancé and me. I ordered the Sam's burger with green beans, and it was fantastic! My fiancé chose the Nick's burger with mac and cheese, which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. Our server was incredibly sweet and even offered us a taste of their key lime pie, which was delightful. The cook was very friendly, too. I wholeheartedly recommend giving this restaurant a try—you won't regret it. We will definitely be back for more burgers and sides!

I ordered the chopped pork combo, and I have to say, the food was fantastic! However, the side portions are quite small, so if you enjoy a generous side with your meal like I do, I recommend opting for a larger side. I had the Brunswick stew, which was delicious, but I wish I'd known it would be such a small portion; I would have ordered more. The okra was also good. I would give this place five stars if the side for the combo meal was larger; a combo shouldn't come with a kid-sized portion.

The food was excellent. The atmosphere is family friendly. The wait staff was very courteous and efficient. All these years I've either lived here or visited. PEOPLE STOP SLEEPING ON THIS RESTAURANT. If you want some good BBQ... truthfully it tastes like your grandma done stood and worked over the BBQ pit all day and lastly threw the mac and cheese in the oven before she sits down to rest. LOVE is what I tasted because it reminded me of my grandma before I could finish eating. DON'T TAKE MY WORD, TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!
