Sage Cafe - Carson City

This place offers incredible food at unbeatable prices—there's no sales tax, which means an instant 7.5% savings! The café operates in a cafeteria style, where you can choose from a wide menu and have your meal prepared right in front of you. Breakfast is served from 7 AM, and lunch and dinner are available until around 6 PM, depending on how busy it gets; on weekends, the hours may be shorter. The menu features delicious options like Reuben sandwiches, burgers, fries, and onion rings. For those seeking healthier choices, there's a salad bar and grilled chicken breasts available. While the café primarily caters to hospital staff, I truly enjoy coming here for the fantastic food and low prices. Keep in mind that parking can be a bit tricky during the day, but there's usually a spot to be found.

For a hospital cafeteria, the food here is outstanding. Most of the meals are prepared right in front of you, and the daily specials are fantastic. Occasionally, we go there just for lunch. I highly recommend it!

The prices for the food are excellent! The tenders and fries were fresh and crispy. The service was quick, and the entire place was very clean, which made my experience at the hospital feel a bit better. The only downside is that they close at 7 PM; it would be great if they stayed open later.

The Sage Café at the Carson Tahoe Hospital is OPEN again to the public. During the last 1 1/2 years, the café has been restricted to staff and patients of the hospital, but now it's open again to the public! You just have to enter thru the front entrance and bee screen and wear a mask ... hey, this IS a hospital! The food is all the same great stuff, tho the stir-fry station is closed till they can hire more staff to tend the stir-fry station. There are no more soups or chili either due to covid restrictions. The main grill is open and serving great sandwiches and burgers ... even fried chicken wings today! Sides of mash potatoes and gravy as well as loaded baked potatoes are on offer as well. The food is sooo darn tasty here, The burgers have a real flame charbroiled flavor and are super generous on the fillings and meat as well on the sandwiches. Get over here and check it out, hospital food will never be the same once you've sampled the Sage Cafe!

This does not taste like hospital food . I like the fact there is a daily special as well as a menu. Since this is inside Carson Tahoe Hospital, the employees are extra thoughtful and kind. Many folks are there and worried for a loved one. Not your standard customer. Special skills are needed when folks are hungry and emotional, or exhausted. Basic menu choices but the items are chosen for comfort food value. Lots of tasty healthy choices too! Clean and visually appealing dining area. Every condiment known to man in packets!!! We go there just for lunch. Pricing is reasonable too.
