Agriturismo Cascina Isole - CARTOSIO

We went to this farm for a family holiday, we ate very well and in abundance. Excellent pheasant salad and delicate lasagna with mushrooms. For those who liked the nursery there were no misses. Also very nice the room and besides being a few tens of meters from the aqui-sassello road, it has a large space where they can park many cars.

The true essence of how it should be an agriturismo: simple dishes, but genuine and tasty. An excellent opportunity to taste good genuine cuisine at cheap prices this farm in Cartosio, very recommended. We stayed in Valentine's Day, in a very cold winter evening and we found a cozy and warm environment (not discounted in other restaurants of the Erro Valley), with excellent dinner consisting of three starters, two first, a second, sweet, coffee, liqueur, all great, for every course proposed the bis, price only 25 € per head, wine included. The restaurant is located in a characteristic renovated farmhouse next to the state road for Sassello, right under the village of Cartosio. A pleasant presence of food in Valle Erro, to be kept in mind.

On the way to that area, we decide to stop for lunch at this new place on the road from Acqui to Sassello. Fortunately, after the death of locals in the area, someone had the audacity to open a new activity, hopefully they can thrive without problems! The room is simple and clean, a nice new and spacious bathroom, probably in summer also has a exploitable dehor. We happened on a day when a committee had requested a traditional hyper menu, which the owner apologized to us for. In any case it was all good and super plentiful (I have repeatedly asked if we wanted the bis, so that we stopped before the second and did not eat the dessert. We will return to another season to try their less classic dishes. Anyway, very cheap: 4 starters (albese, Russian salad, tunaed calf, peppers with green sauce and Agnolotti del plin, water, 1/2 wine and coffee at 15€ per head, with regular receipt! A farm open only by reservation, a small quiet village, food absolutely km0 to try with its good flavors doses that could kill, in a good sense both clear, also the best boar on the square and an account that makes home fat also the wallet. Knowing how to work in life must be rewarded! Location. We are in a small village of the first Erro Valley, knowing the areas, the location is not among the most fortunate, but it is used exceptionally. Very close to the state, which facilitates the accessibility of the place, attention to detail is beautiful. The furniture deserves a mention, as well as how the dining room is organized. Service. The homemade climate is encouraged by the 'oste that with a garbato, but friendly begins to bring the dishes to the table. The courtesy and discretion that do not disdain however two words with the guests: before, during and after are an additional element of calm. A feeling of quiet relaxation that pervades the adventurous turn! Kitchen. As in every crescendo rednino the strong dish makes it the kitchen. It's not the usual place that propinates Grandma's dishes, but something that maybe Grandma did, but only sometimes. Something wanted: robiola alla grappa, involtini di pee... To make it short, most of the dishes definitely did not eat it and rarely you can find it! Price. Almost happier than lunch is then the time of the account, an all-inclusice with wine jugs, consisting of 4 starters, 2 first, 1 second and a dessert, the price stops at 25€. A cost more than reasonable. A cost that does not deserve other comments. At this point I just have to tell you that the place is not recommended... More!!!

I booked this farm for my husband's birthday party. The hosts immediately proved very helpful in fulfilling my request. They opened for us... And already this deserves a note of merit. Menu from 25€ very good and inclusive of four starters, two first, one second, sweet, coffee, wine and water in quantity. Generous portions and possibility to make bis and tris, why not! Really a great impression and we will definitely come back for a romantic dinner.
