Feedback gevenIt was a long time that I missed this restaurant. What we enjoyed was all amazing! 100% production for the local with particular attention to the presented dishes. As a starter a plateu of really special local cold cuts and accompanied by the celebrated Chef 's Gnocco fried ... a delight! Soft inside, crunchy outside and no oats! Fantastic! Then we tasted the main course with bitter totresses and pumpkin tortellas ... an ecstasy supplemented by Lambrusco wine. Finally, tiramisu , coffee and homemade orange liqueur ... If you have never tried a lunch like this you can not say you have enjoyed the local delicacies of Castel Goffredo ...
Very few restaurants are as good as La Pialla; family driven, is a high quality food experience. My favourite dishes are: Riso alla mantovana, Riso alla nuvolari , Tortelli di Zucca, Tortello all’erba amara, just to mention some. If you ever stop in this little town for any reason and you are hungry this place is second to none. A tip: the restaurant at lunch is split in two parts ask for “Pranzo di lavoro” if you want a fix budget good menu; if you do not mention that 3 Italian words you will have a deli experience at a higher cost. Now you chose, I guess that if you read this in English you’ll go for the Deli experience! Enjoy.
This place is great. It has the best salami and prosciutto I've ever had. The food is good, staff is friendly. A side store, attached, has artisanal local beers for sale, among other wines and delectables.
The place will amaze you upon seating as there is wide list of traditional local foods. Tortello Amaro(bitter tortello i.e. a sort of ravioli type pasta is a local of Castel Goffredo is great to taste. At the entrance of the city u will see written city of Tortello Amaro. Highly recommend to try that here. :
