Il Cantuccio - CASTELLABATE

I tasted cacio pasta and pepper and I have to say it was a surprise. Such a dish, which is mainly eaten in Trastevere, I found it really delicious, then served in an aluminum grater... Really nice. We'll be back.

We tried this restaurant a few years ago and found the service to be awful, we visited Santa Maria three weeks ago and and thought we would give it a try again just in case there had been some changes. There was no change with the head waiter who was so ignorant and got the drinks we ordered all wrong, no surprise there because he wasn't even listening to what we were ordering Food was shocking me and my friend had a Lasagne which was layers of patya and a tin of tomatoes over the top, my husband ordered a steak which was a cheap cut and just gristle. I really wish i had sent the meals back, what a disaster Italy the place for a great lasagne, Charlie Bigham from Tesco is a million times better than what they served up. Advice please don't try and the staff should attend a hospitality course

We ate outside and I have to say very nice, clean. But we took fries and a panuozzo, delicious sausage provola and friarielli, delicious. Normal price

Fabulous choice of dishes, family friendly-always busy, you must book. Service excellent. Can recommend the calamari and prawns
