In particularly, there was a hole in a corner from which really cold air came in( outside 5C)!!We asked politely to do something but nothing..then.. when half of the table wore jackets and scarfs we called again the director. She said that they could not help us and after our further complains the director replied that we were not able to understand, let intend that we were quite stupid to complain. Definitely the worst thing that a director could say to his clients! Finally, the hole was covered with a cloth and we could enjoy our dinner. About the food.. it was good but extremely expensive for Just small portions of starters and a few pizzas. At the end we had also problems when we paid..in conclusion.. no more there! Al pozzo failed! Baaaaad
This is the best restaurant in Castellana for pizza without a doubt. The pizzas are amazing. The house wine very good too. We have been three times now and will always go there when in the area. The service is second to none, the setting beautiful, the decor of the restaurant lovely. Well worth a visit.
Al Pozzo was recommended by the owners of our villa, a short drive away. I wish we'd eaten there every day now, as we ate in some terrible Pugliese restaurants during our two week stay in the area, which is a shame given the plentiful, natural ingredients of the area. This restaurant has a small menu and no off putting photos of the food. It is off the beaten track and family run with a lady making fresh orrechietti at the back. The waiter was incredibly helpful and honest. Though his English was as limited as my Italian, we got by. We ate in the restaurant twice and had take away pizzas one night. The highlight for me and another of our party was the chicory and fava bean primi dish. A very typical dish of the area. It was lovely if you like veggies. The meat and pasta dish eaten by one of our party was also excellent apparently. The waiter explained that this was a special dish eaten on Sundays in the area. The meal was followed by a lovely semifredo. Good food, friendly, relaxed, unaggressive service. The lesson of the holiday was only eat in restaurants recommended by local residents. Many are closed at this time of the year unfortunately, but, thankfully, this one wasn't.
Excellent restaurant. the place is original, decorated with climbing plants and filament bulbs. very nice menus that are presented in a wooden window. food is quality and prices are in the norm. I tried spaghetti with red shrimp and they were great. the staff seemed very young and therefore not very experienced. However he was friendly. overall very positive experience.
We had lunch today. appetizers and first excellent. great price. service very young but attentive to every detail. Congratulations.
