The other plates being served such as the sushi looked good. With a bottle of red and 2 beers, €75. The establishment is quirky but the lighting was a little stark a feeling of being at someones house. Staff very efficient and helpful.
This seemed to be a high end restaurant in Benicasim and although the food was nice and staff friendly, the service was slow to the point of frustration. If you have time and don't mind the very relaxed approach then it's definitely worth coming. Brush up on your Spanish however as not all restaurants in this area are fluent in English.
I do accept this maybe the best Japanese restaurant in Castellon, due to the very limited offer otherwise. The service is pleasant and has a good atmosphere. It seems an honest attempt at offering quality sushi. However, the food is just ok and, more importantly, does not justify the price. Our dinner ended up at almost $40 per person, wine inclusive. Which for local standards is very high. The rice of the sushi and nigiri did not feel right. It was not well compacted and the grain did not seem the proper type. The nigiri came out too warm as well which did not help. The pieces of tuna and salmon on the nigiri were on the thin side. All portions in general were very small. Some of the maki combinations were original and tasty though. This, again, remains the best Japanese in town. So if you are desperate for Japanese food, just be prepared to pay for it and do not go with too high expectatioms.
