Il Gelato Di Ulisse

This may be the best gelato I have ever had, anywhere. A scoop of the chocolate caper paired with a scoop of basil was my first exposure and we tried to return every day during our two weeks here despite the 45 minute round trip from our rental house! Some people told us to try the competitor in Pantelleria town, but it did not even come close in terms of flavor or service. The woman at Ulisse also are the nicest, friendliest people you will possibly meet on Pantelleria!. The beautiful location on the little harbor behind Kaya Kaya is perfect. And there is even a handy public washroom steps away to wash those gelato sticky fingers!

This hidden gem has wonderful gelato, warm, welcoming service and a charming seating area overlooking the port of Scauri. You can stick to traditional flavors like pistachio, almond and strawberry or try something more unique like basil or chocolate with capers. There is also a lovely selection of interesting cakes and various desserts. Sit on site out front, on the terrace or stroll down to the port. Enjoy it early on your holiday because you will want to return as many times as possible.

The position is great; with a tiny terrace overlooking the Scauri port. Can anything beat sitting in a shadow, eating a great ice cream or granita, and enjoy a seaview? They have both classical and novelty flavors and we tasted most of them. The top ones include chocolate with capers, basil, yogurt with amarena, pistachio, peach,… Obviously, it requires more than one visit and we were happy to do it.
