Feedback gevenI really liked this place. I went a couple of weeks ago and it's CLOSED. ???? No note that they're moving or will return. Just closed. I almost had my current card full of punches for another free coffee.
Called in for coffee today and left with the feeling that customers were an unwanted nuisance for the staff. A welcome, manners and a little care are not difficult and are usually a here, but not today.
Hubby and I go out to breakfast every Sunday morning and I usually order pancakes! We have been trying a different cafe each weekend and today's experience at raw 101 was so disappointing. I have never, and I mean never eaten worst pancakes! They were very clearly pre cooked and re heated in a microwave. Only warm and very rubbery. I wouldn't be surprised if they were just bought from coles. How hard is it to pour some batter in a fry pan??? I understand about preparing in advance, but surely they could have made the batter in advance but still cooked them fresh?! Anyway the whole experience was very ordinary- hubbys eggs and are burnt tasting coffee all added to the less than enjoyable experience.
We ate here for the first time this morning. The food was positively scrumptious and we're already planning our return. The coffee is as good as stated by previous guests, there are certainly many customers who come for their take away morning fix. So, to the food. We were happy, more than happy with the bacon and egg rolls, loaded with bbq sauce. The rolls were also noteworthy. I was completely satisfied with the whole meal. They serve large portions and we were both happy with the quality of the food, so too the price. Regarding the coffee....yum, definitely worth getting a large size. I was tempted to order some take away coffees but there's always next time. Grab the regulars coffee card too, I am certain that we'll return.Another point to add is the friendliness of the staff. They were so efficient and always smiling, the barista is worth every penny he's paid, if not more. He makes the best coffee and is super quick too. Given that there are so many regulars it's no surprise that many customers are known by their first names, and phrases like the usual are thrown around often. If you want to sit outside, there are plenty of places for outdoor seating. We sat inside - more space and cooler. Make the time to stop here and enjoy the food, and yes, I'll happily have more of that coffee.
I work locally and don't often eat there due to cost - it'snot the cheapest option locally. However, when I do eat there, even if it is just a coffee and toast ($10) it is delish.Service is patchy but always super-friendly. Coffee is good. As a former resident of the USA it amuses me to see that the hipsters have "discovered" what we knew all along - that filter-drip coffee can be great! And it is here. The trad. Italian-style black is also good - strong but never bitter. Today I tried the Classic Lamb Sandwich. It was scrumptious. Full of slow-cooked lamb, rocket and toasted potatoes, with an awesome dressing. I will def. have this again!
