Then, we received a call from someone who claimed to be the manager. I explained the situation, letting her know that the pizza had arrived, but it was cold. She actually blamed us for the issue, stating that the DoorDash instructions were not set for contactless delivery. I attempted to clarify that we hadn’t ordered through DoorDash and were unaware they were using it due to their staffing issues. This only made her more agitated and rude. Whenever I tried to speak, she just raised her voice, and when I pointed out that she was refusing to take responsibility for the mess, things escalated. Frustrated, I called back, and she started shouting that she wanted to issue a refund, but because we pushed back, she didn't want to proceed. Eventually, she hung up again. In the end, we spent $60 on two pizzas and a two-liter of soda at the Castle Rock Papa John's, and all we received were two cold pizzas after 2.5 hours and an incredibly frustrating call with the manager. It was an unfortunate experience overall.
After waiting a few months, we decided to give them another shot, and they quoted us a 33-minute delivery time. An hour later, we called to check on the order, and they said it was going out and to give them 15 more minutes. After 20 minutes, we called again, and they claimed the driver was on the way but needed another 10 minutes. When we expressed that this was unacceptable, a rude employee got on the line, was aggressive, and made excuses, claiming we were lying about our previous calls. She then handed the phone to the delivery driver, who didn’t even know where he was supposed to go. When my partner finally received the pizza, they were told it had just been made after a 1.5-hour wait. When we got it home, it was cold! Why do they sell our orders to DoorDash, increase costs without our permission, and have miserable employees who fail to fulfill orders?
"I recently had a disappointing experience at the Papa John's on Wilcox in Castle Rock. I ordered a pizza with extra cheese, but when it arrived, I could barely see the crust. I tried calling the restaurant twice, but nobody picked up. I recommend heading to the Italian pizza place next to the old church in downtown Castle Rock instead; it's by far the best pizza in the area."
Not got! I ordered two pepperoni pizzanins and lacked one that I spoke with, what I suspect is the manager “lanes” she was absolutely disastrous! I asked either for my missing pizza or a refund that it denies both as well as completely rude throughout the conversation.
We ordered for delivery and it showed about a 2 hour wait for delivery. The staff was really nice because they called to inform us that they had to refund our order. They sounded stressed, but I don’t blame them. They let me know that their manager on duty walked out on the job and they had to close the store. Yikes.
