Chopsticks Restaurant - Castlegar

The War wonton soup was fabulous, the sushi was good. The service is a little slow. Really good sushi and a nice selection. Portion sizes are good and value for your money is good.

Ate at this restaurant twice while working in Castlegar for a couple of days. First day was for lunch and we ordered the chinese lunch special combo. The portion size was huge and very reasonably priced. Both of us enjoyed it very much and could barely finish it.That evening, I returned and ordered sushi, which was all very delicious. The size of the fish pieces on the Nigiri was acceptable, and the California roll was very nice with with some avocado pieces in the roll.Service was prompt, the staff was friendly and the décor was comfortable. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

So a friend had gone vegetarian on me, so I thought we could try the tofu. I've never had tofu before, but we got the peppered tofu just to see. It was actually not bad. Super salty, but not bad. I loved the chow mien and stir fried veggies we got. I probably should have got some sweet and sour pork or something for myself. I've had that before and found it to be great.

I rated 1 star because it was required! I ordered from Chopsticks in the summer...the WORST chinese food I've ever had! Decided to try again in the winter (as there are really no other options) as we LOVE Chinese food...still the WORST Chinese food I've ever had! Ordered long before 5pm on a weekday, took over an hour to be delivered, food was cold, disgusting and uneatable. EVERY TIME!! Food is EXTREMELY overpriced for the UNBELIEVABLY low quality food that you get. You would think that Chinese people could actually cook Chinese food but I've been sadly mistaken! I will NEVER order from there again and will let everyone I know and meet that eating there is a guarantee to vomit! WHAT A COMPLETE RIP OFF!!

Having eaten at this place quite a few times, I have noticed a continual downgrading of the food quality. Tonight was quite a bad eating experience. Sushi is my choice at this place. The cooks have absolutely no clue how to make a roll. Impossible to pick up with chopsticks without the piece falling apart. Not really sure what the sunomono noodles were made of but it was not rice. Even though a frequent traveller to Castlegar, I will not be going to this place again and will not recommend it to anyone.
