Unfortunately it turned out to be closed. We were both tired, hot and grumpy and nothing else that we saw in town appealed to us. When we were researching possible places for lunch the day before we noticed this cafe also got great reviews. Therefore, even though it was another 10 minute further drive we decided to go for it... boy we glad we did: delicious Caprese salad with tuna, a tasty panini with local meat and cheese and a great local beer from Capo d'Otranto. Then came the best part: a trio of gelatos featuring chocolate, almond and fig and a third flavour I can't remember the name of but was just as yummy as the first two. As that apparently wasn't enough we also got a delicious chocolate and cream pasticiotti and a couple of Caffe Leccese. Wow! Marco the owner was so warm and hospitable, even though he didn't speak much English and our Italian is very limited to say the least. This for us was a reflection of what foreign travel is all about it can be a lot of hard work and aggravation but just when things seem to be going sideways you can have an amazing experience like this. Ciao bella!
Great selection of sweet and savoury things to eat. Very clean. Fancy. Polite and with free wifi. Lovely little to cafe open all day.
