La Arboleda - Castro-Urdiales

My partners birthday. they served inedible starters and dinner. We sent it back. They insisted we pay and were aggressive. this is the worst restaurant we’ve ever been to and a massive con. Appalling owners and ruined our holiday.

We booked the day before and the proprietor said something to the effect if we did not like the food we did not need to pay which was never going to happen. Arrived and tastefully furnished inside with perhaps too many pics of the owner; some may say full of his own importance! We had had zamburrinas the previous night and do not like clams and these were suggested. We asked for the menu but there is NO menu, repeat NO menu. We come to Spain 10/12times every year and this has never happened before. Do I want what the restaurant has a surplus of from that day ? Definitely not. My wife was immediately out of the door and I quickly followed only to be told to calm down. The place is not for us but may appeal to other people if you WANT to be told WHAT TO EAT. Let’s face it who,is paying?

I went to invite my friend to dinner and we have some octopus , calamaris, lobster, , clamps and nice white wine. everything was great. the only thing was a bit expensive and the don't have a menu card so the owner told you what they have and u can not see the prices

We have repeated in this small but cozy restaurant, as always excellent quality food and cooked perfectly. This time we have eaten a very rich tempered cod salad, mussels with tomatoes that were very good and a great entrecot cooked at its perfect point. The torrija of the house is a show. the attention on the part of endika and gorca as always impeccable. We will not be long to return.
