I flew in from Germany last week and I have been hanging out to go here since I last visited it last year. It didn't disappoint at all. The staff were super friendly, and the food was to die for. MY ALL TIME FAV is the Antipasto board as it has a all the good things one can want. from deep fried calamari to meatballs. Even though the Antipasto board is my all time favourite, their pizzas are fantastic and pastas are really good - one in particular is the prawn linguini in pink sauce with zucchini & spinach. Now that is moorish!I like to also bring their pasta home. They have a refrigerator near the entrance of the restaurant with all sorts of pastas ready to take home. Its great to freeze for those special nights and yet again the pasta is well priced. I really like coming here especially with friends and family. I do recommend you book though because they are quite busy.
Dinner for two at Pasta Italia.Wine, Italian Pasta (they make their own pasta) and dessert. We had Italian Red wine it was full bodied and was nice and with quite strong alcohol content for one glass of wine which was recommended by the staff and went very well with CALAMARATA and SPAGHETTI CRAB Chili, both dairy free. The CALAMARATA (Calamari, grape tomato, garlic, white wine, basil, parsley & cracked pepper) is pasta that looks like calamari rings so that you cannot differentiate between calamari and the pasta. The pasta is al dente which is not too soft which I like. The SPAGHETTI CRAB Chili (Spanner crab meat, cherry) was excellent. The Chili is sauce was excellent which is served separately in a small bowl so that you could add to your pasta. Plenty of parmesan cheese is also available in a bowl which was a great addition to the pasta. For dessert we had CRÈME BRÛLÈE [GF], The rich custard base flavoured with vanilla bean is crisp burnt sugar crust and TIRAMISU Layers of coffee-soaked Savoiardi lady finger biscuits & a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar and mascarpone, flavoured with cocoa. The Creme Brulee was more sweeter than the Tiramisu but we loved both of them.If you have reduced salt intake I would recommend that you ask them to hold the salt or to put less salt. They also sell fresh frozen pasta which you could purchase at very reasonable prices.
Visited this place, good ambience, comfortable quiet setting. Busy night and understaffed, the staff attitude when they are under pressure is just plain rude. We ordered a starter and a main dish. Diners next to us ordered after us and finished their meal + dessert and left before we even received ours. When explaining our frustration for waiting over an hour for our food the manager unapologetically starts to explain their process for queuing of orders, then passes our complaint to the chef (the owner as well), who has a go at us. The owner/chef then explain that good food takes time, ironic because the pasta in the dish prepared was undercooked. We paid and left. While this may have been a one off ( i sincerely hope), i think the owner and manager handled the situation poorly and even though we live in the area, i wouldnt step foot in this place. The food on its own is average, not worth how much they charge.
I think the resturant is new and when we went they seemed to have no idea. The food was ok and they make fresh pasta which is nice. The menu looks good but didn't really come though onto the plate. Service needs improvement too.
